To ask for neck pain remedies please?!

Sorry am posting here for traffic as I’m in desperate need of relief! Pain in left side of neck and close to shoulder too, for a couple of days now. Ibuprofen and muscle gel not doing much. I tried heat etc. It also hurts when I swallow on that side (not my actual throat my neck if that makes sense). Has anyone had similar or any advice or remedies? I recently had bronchitis and am taking doxycycline for it (antibiotics). That caused horrible heartburn so I’ve been sleeping propped on pillows for both that and the cough. So maybe that caused it!

What time of day are you taking doxycycline? It needs at least 2 hours before you lay down. I take it before a meal.

Not much you can do for neck pain I'm afraid, you are doing everything that you can. Keep on moving your neck though and take the ibuprofen regularly. Hope it gets better soon x

Your muscles could be in spasm and GPs can prescribe something stronger for that. Could be worth seeing your Dr if it continues

I would get some stronger pain relief, one with codeine. You can get solpadeine max in pharmacy otc. Try and put a soft cover round your head where it hurts to kind of stop the pillow from being to sharp of an angle, when you sleep. Using a warm compress could help. Deep Heat can be too strong can't it? If no better then speak to the GP. Wishing you well!
The doxy might be affecting it, so maybe see what happens when you finish the course.

I had neck pain almost constantly and it was really impairing my life. I did exercises etc but it always came back.

I bought a Groove pillow and it has been miraculous. Since sleeping on that, I have had no pain and can do all the normal stuff in the day. I am so happy. It has been about 6 months and before that it was everyday with no sign of abating

Posted that and only read your message properly afterwards...just too carried away by reading neck pain and telling you my answer....

But you have been ill. I also get swollen glands when I have an infection and that is painful.
