How do you choose which job?

I overheard a man last year saying that he had been offered two jobs , and he was so stressed trying to decide which to take

And, I thought what a great problem to have!

But now i see what he was on about. I work in a broad social care ield.

I can work in jobs that are very different to each other, eg I could work with homeless people, work in community work, work in adult education..

it's such a broad area that I get confused which way to go sometimes

Last time that I chose between two jobs,

I think I chose wrongly. I chose the better paid job. But looking back I would have much preferred to work in the other area.

And later on , it was harder to get into the other area.

Now I've been offered two jobs in two very different areas.

For each of them I know that if I go one route , it will be harder to go down the other route in future. As you need experience in each area to get more positions in that specific area.

I'm afraid of making the wrong choice.
I want to make a good choice.
How do you make choices about jobs?

is staff welfare important to you? What about benefits, such as additional pension contributions and life assurance? Annual leave is important to me, as is flexibility, such as working from home in school holidays.

I do the Pros and Cons in two columns, see which one outweighs the other

Then go with your gut 😀

How do you feel your gut?

I keep trying to feel mine. Do you try to visualise it and see which way feels best?

Flip a coin to choose one & notice your gut response. Are you disappointed when it comes out heads . or relieved? That should tell you.
