So many things I can think of to do today if only the sun would come out?
Anyone with me?
About time we could turn the heating off too!!

YANBU

(the sun is out here atm and it is glorious)

MixingPlaydough · 09/03/2024 10:30

Yanbu in the slightest I woke up to blue sky and sun coming in through the windows this morning and it felt bloody wonderful. I got dressed full of optimism for a nice day outside without getting muddy or blown about like a leaf. However, it's now fucking raining again and all the optimism for a lovely day outside has disappeared along with the sun.

girlfriend44 · 09/03/2024 10:41

Yes please. Need it here.

SerenityNowInsanityLater · 09/03/2024 10:46

I just need a temperature increase! Sun would be nice too but I’m done with the ‘It’s like January in March’ school runs, icy blasts in my face as I cycle, and freezing dog walks. And the mud!! So much mud!

Oblomov24 · 09/03/2024 11:00

Me too. It's overcast and grim atm.

Echobelly · 09/03/2024 11:02

YANBU, I am getting very tired of this samey weather which isn't showing any sign of changing soon. I hope it's not going to be like 'spring' 2013 which just stayed like this until about the end of May!

difficultspaghetti · 09/03/2024 11:07

I'm tired of the weather over the past year. Summer was shite here, just constant rain. Feels like it's been winter since last June. March is always like this though so fingers crossed for a better spring/summer.

Iloveacurry · 09/03/2024 11:08

Yep! Need some sunny days.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 09/03/2024 11:08

The sun is out here!

I'm sure it won't last but it is lovely for a Saturday morning.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 09/03/2024 11:09

It’s a bit early to turn heating off! We’re still in winter, and it snows more often at Easter than Christmas

DanceMumTaxi · 09/03/2024 11:10

Me too, not a bit of blue sky to be seen here and it’s absolutely freezing. Feels like it could rain any minute or maybe even snow. It’s like spring’s not even trying!

Yearendjoy · 09/03/2024 11:11

Clear blue skies here

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 09/03/2024 11:11

The only good thing about 2020 was the weather in March/April. I remember having to self-isolate in the early days of all the confusion and sitting on my balcony in shorts and a T-shirt wfh. When I was allowed back into work I walked to and from work every day and don’t really remember it raining much.

I’m in London though, and it’s sunny here today! Hope the sun comes out for you all soon.

It's meteorological spring now.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 09/03/2024 11:16

I thought spring started in 21st March

Tomatina · 09/03/2024 11:36

Yes totally fed up with the permanently grey sky, rain and cold. It's been like this for months. Every now and again we get an hour of blue sky in the morning, just to tempt us, and then bam, back to grey.

Michiru · 09/03/2024 12:38

We have another 2 weeks of solid rain forecast here, so no let-up anytime soon.

I really want to sort the garden out; it got neglected in the washout last year and I can't let it stay in this state for another year. Can't paint anything or sort the wood, either, because everything is perma-damp.

Lampslights · 09/03/2024 12:44

It’s lovely here, but has been getting very cold at night, my husband got the grass cut, which was a boon as it was growing a lot. But in with you, I can’t wait till the weather has fully changed, we are just in early spring right now.

Cazpar · 09/03/2024 12:51

We're more likely to have snow in March than December. Always have been! This is nothing new.

February was the warmest on record for England and Wales. The temperatures are more normal at the moment, but it's going to get unusually mild next week from the looks of the weather forecast.

We've had several very sunny days but the weather is changeable, like it often is in the UK.

Warmest February on record for England and Wales

England and Wales had their respective warmest Februarys on record according to provisional Met Office statistics in what was a mild and wet month for many.

Kids have been out in the garden for 2.5 seconds now my house is freezing 🥶 I'm not a fan of heat but wouldn't mind 20s with blue sky that's perfect for me .

Itstime2023 · 09/03/2024 14:33

Yes 100%

Crunchymum · 09/03/2024 14:58

I am flagging a bit now with the weather.

We had a sunny day yesterday (cold but sunny) and it was so invigorating. Today started well but it was grey and dull by midday.

We've all been taking vitamin D supplements but we are in desperate need of the real thing

** I did make the most of the weather yesterday as I wasn't at work so met a friend and had a long walk along the canal / coffee and cake at a lovely little nature reserve.

Mairzydotes · 09/03/2024 15:37

It seems like it's rained very regularly ( apart from the odd few days) since the end of July.
I just want it to be fair long enough for everything to dry up . I don't think it's particularly been a cold Autumn and winter though.
