This posted on Facebook by a chap at work. Joking aside, how come they don't realise it's a similar argument to people talking about reverse racism? Or is that an extreme reaction on my part? That's what he told me.

International men's day is in November

He’s an idiot.

Just tell him it's Nov 19 and ask what he has planned for it.

They care so much they haven't bothered to look into it.

Put as he has just demonstrated the patriarchy is alive and well not sure he needs his own day (It’s 19th Nov though)

I did tell him about November and he conceded he knows about Movember but he's still made himself look like an arse.

Never mind Nov 19, tell him it's Men's Day 364 days of the year.

‘Reverse racism’ is still racism, it’s still nasty and it can still be hurtful. I don’t think it’s comparable.

Did you respond to him? Presume you did seeing he told you it was an extreme reaction.

As will all "what about international men's day" reactions it's nothing to do with concern about that but his dislike of focus on women. If he cared he'd know.

Next year we will rename Women's Day "What About Men's Day" then men can have two days and women none. That should make him happy.

Tell him he can now just identify as a woman and be celebrated along with us old fashioned real women.
