To stop taking antibiotics without finishing?

Emergency dentist gave me 7 days of antibiotics for an abscess. I took 3 days worth and saw my regular dentist today. He says it wasn't an abscess but a type of ulcer and as that tooth is intact w/ no filling it can't be infected.

AIBU to stop my antibiotics mid-course? Dentist said it's up to me. My DH thinks I absolutely shouldn't stop because I will add to antibiotic resistance but if I have no infection is there even any harm?

It’s still better to finish the course and it’s only a few more days so I’d finish it.

There are different trains of thought about this, even amongst experts (I take daily life long antibiotics for a bladder issue, been on them 30 years now). Personally if you don’t actually have an active infection I wouldn’t take them - there’s nothing there for them to fight.
