Miserable due to recurrent ductal thrush

Please help!

After years of recurrent losses and IVF I finally got to bring my baby home. I’m beyond overjoyed. She is everything I could’ve ever imagined and more.

From the moment she was born, she latched well and I was comimitted to breast feeding her. After 2 bouts of mastitis early on the doc gave me some mega antibiotics. They did the job but left me with both nipple and ductal thrush. It’s been a month now. I’ve tried everything and nothing seems to clear it. (Cream, tablets, washing everything hot, probiotics, acidophilus) I’m miserable with it all and so close to giving up breastfeeding which makes me so sad. The pain when feeding is now unbearable and I have had to give her expressed milk in bottles for a few days. I don’t think this is a long term solution though as I am spending much of the day either feeding, expressing or washing bottles!

Any advice would be most gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a antifungal tablets? Off the top of my head its called Fluconazole. It's usually just a one off tablet (you can buy it over the counter) but if your struggling then in strict circumstances try can be given a course of a few days.
