Bought a packet of bacon at lunch. Currently sat in my car which is reading 11 degrees. Will be there for about 3.5 hours.
Would you say this is ok? I thought it was cooler than it actually is outside.

I would think it's probably ok, but if you're at all worried cook it all up this evening and freeze the cooked rashers.

*Edited to add years ago I used to buy chilled stuff at lunchtime and stick it under my desk until I went home as work had no fridges we could use and I had zero issues, the only thing I'd be wary of is fish/seafood.

It'll be fine as long as it's sealed and you fridge it today.

Bacon was invented to preserve meat without refrigeration.

KreedKafer · 04/03/2024 14:46

It will be perfectly fine.

I never had any problems with chicken, having said that I only did that if I planned on eating it within a day or two.

A girl I worked with in the same office would bring in then take home the same yoghurt for several days in a row where it'd be sitting on her desk all day in the warm until she finally fancied eating it!
