I’m desperately trying to lose weight at the moment but the biggest thing killing my motivation is that I’m a 34H bust and only 5ft tall.
My mum always said that even if I lose weight my chest will always be large and I likely won’t lose any from there. It’s really dampening my thoughts as it’s my biggest insecurity.

Had anyone with a larger bust lost a decent amount of weight and also lost it from their bust too?

For reference I’m 5ft, large hips/thighs and bust, not a bad size waist (hourglass in figure I guess.. just a flabby one!) and weigh 176lbs, usually wear a 14-16 UK.

Will I ever get a slim, ‘beach body’? 😭

Hi. I've lost lots of weight twice, once at 20 and once 30. I can't remember what my boobs started off at when I was 20 but got them down to a D cup at a size 10.

At 30 I went from a size 20 with 36J to a size 14 with 32G, so about 4 cup sizes I think

Flatleak · 04/03/2024 09:15

Oh but I should say it wrecked my boobs. Lose skin and pointing downwards!

LadyDanburysHat · 04/03/2024 09:17

I definitely lose weight from my boobs when I lose weight. Probably only a couple of cup sizes though. You are still going to have big boobs but thy should reduce with the rest of you.

Chocolateorange11 · 04/03/2024 09:17

Yes, I successfully lost 18lb a few years ago. I went from a GG to an E and down a band size too. Went from a size 10 to a size 6.

DelilahBucket · 04/03/2024 09:28

Post childbirth the smallest bra size I have been is a 30GG. Even when I'm at a weight I'm happy with I still have big boobs and massive thighs/calves and I hate it. I hate my legs more than boobs, the latter can look okay in a decent fitting bra. I'm currently nearly two stone over the weight I'd like to be and in a 32HH. My under bust doesn't seem to change much with weight as like you OP, I don't tend to carry much around my ribs and waist.

WhereIsMyLight · 04/03/2024 09:35

I’ve lost a lot weight and it did go from my boobs. They were still big though. With a small back size and large cup size, however much weight you lose you aren’t going to be considered small chested. Losing weight from my boobs totally ruined them though, they looked like deflated, sad balloons. They looked so bad it was not a motivator to keep the weight off. So I would look into exercises that work your shoulders and upper chest. Some foods and creams will claim they will help with lose skin but I didn’t find it did.

foodglorious · 04/03/2024 09:37

OP a different perspective.

I was a 32KK, im 5ft 8. I lost weight meaning i went down to a size 10 so i looked really slim, my boobs didnt budge.

They had been the bain of my life so eventually i got a breast reduction - best thing i ever did.

The surgeon commented after that my boobs were all breast tissue and i would never have been able to loose them with loosing weight - so for me loosing weight could never influence my breast size.

dolorsit · 04/03/2024 09:47

It's not a given you will lose weight from your bust. I'm someone who always gains weight there first and loses from there last.

However, I've lost 40lbs. I've gone from a J to a FF and dropped at least one band size (and very close to dropping another)

I still have a large bust but it's definitely smaller.

crostini · 04/03/2024 09:59

I used to have G cup boobs and now have D. It was partly significant weight loss but I've lost it weight before and not lost it of of boobs but this time I also stopped breastfeeding after 3.5 years and two labours and pregnancies so i think a lot of it has to do with that.

HeadsShouldersTitsandArse · 04/03/2024 10:09

Thanks all, interesting to read some of these!

@foodglorious I wanted a breast reduction many year ago, I’ll never be able to afford it and the NHS rejected me when I was 18.
I was a 30E at 14 and being in school it was honestly the most intimidating horrendous time of my life.

How was the pain after the surgery? I’m absolutely terrified of being out under, and the pain. I’ve had 2 c sections but I don’t think I could compare that pain to a breast reduction 😂

Againsttheflow · 04/03/2024 10:15

I have never lost weight in my boobs. My back size goes down but my cup size goes up to accommodate.

Lastarse · 04/03/2024 10:17

I’ve lost some weight recently and I was about the same size as you. Not anything massively different re chest size (down one cup & band width)… But they feel a lot less heavy & uncomfortable. Ok, they’re not going to be pert again unless I’ve surgery but I thought I’d share the fact they feel lighter, not as sore strap marks & I can wear my bra all day now !

Yearendjoy · 04/03/2024 10:17

I've lost 2 stone and haven't lost anything from my boobs.

Yes i went Private, i saved alot, it was hard but some places will do interest free loans, i went with the Circle group, previously BMI i think.
I was also rejected by the NHS.

Thats the only surgery ive ever had so cant compare the pain to anything but at the time i had 2 under 3, so i stayed with my mum for 4 days whilst DH took over.

Honestly i did not think the pain was bad, it just felt really tight and i couldn't obviously lift anything.
I had to sleep on my back etc.

I was off work for 2 weeks but honestly i healed great and it changed my life.

Blacknailer · 04/03/2024 10:24

I'm currently a J at a size 16. When I was a size 12 I was a G so I assume they would go down again somewhat.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 04/03/2024 10:24

I've lost weight and lost nothing from boobs, just changed back size. If anything the cup has gone up , but I understand that is the same as staying the same in the weird mechanics of breast measurement.

veryangrymot · 04/03/2024 10:44

Boobs gone first 😭

KreedKafer · 04/03/2024 10:57

I'm in the GG/H range for bras.

The thing about bra sizes is that they don't quite work the way people often think they do. The cup on a 38GG bra is not the same size as the cup on a 32aGG bra - the cup size is the difference between your back size and your bust at its fullest point; it indicates proportion, not just size. For that reason (if you're wearing properly fitted bras) you'll likely stay the same cup size and maintain the same proportions, but you will still have lost fat from your bust area. You will not suddenly have tiny athlete's boobs, but you will look slimmer and fitter regardless.

I lost a good few stone a while back - I'm 5'2" and went from an 18 to a 10. My bra size (if I remember rightly) went from a 36GG/H to a 32GG/H, but you can tell from before and after pictures that I look way better after losing weight, H cup or not.

SpringleDingle · 04/03/2024 11:00

I am a 36GG and a size 16. If I slim down to a size 10-12 I lose off my band size down to a 34 and I can drop to an F cup. They are never going to be small - I am a busty lady! However they are far more manageable at a 34F than at a 36GG.

CarolynKnappShappeyShipwright · 04/03/2024 11:02

I was a size 16-18, 85kgs (5ft5), 32H

i am now size 8-10, 58kg, 28F/30E

I am still curvy shaped but much more manageable! I do a lot of light weights which strengthened my pectorals too. They’re still droopy and loose skin but not awful.

HeadsShouldersTitsandArse · 04/03/2024 11:24

Had anyone got or would be willing to share any before and after photos (not of your boobs 😂) but those who have gone from a 14/16/18+ down to a 10? I’d love to be a size 10 again but I honestly can’t ever imagine myself being able to fit into a 10.. I don’t know why it feels unrealistic, maybe because after 2 kids I feel destined to be wide set forever 😂

Only a bit smaller, but they look much bigger when you have a tiny waist.

I am the same.

@Fooshufflewickjbannanapants thats amazing! You can really see the difference in your arms in those pictures. Reminds me I should start a bit of weight training while I lose the pounds to try and tone my arms up!
