Fed up of DP telling me I do everything wrong?

When really we just have different ways of doing things!
Some examples of things he has told me 1. I don't wash up properly and put the things I washed back on the washing up side.

  1. I put things in the bin wrongly, they need to be in a bag first
  2. I should sweep and not hoover, no carpets
  3. I hang the washing wrong
  4. I load the dishwasher wrong

I have stopped doing any washing, he does it all now, I hardly load the dishwasher.

Just leave it all to him then.

I have one of these. I said if he didn't stop doing it then I wouldn't do any of the things. I am doing them to a sufficient standard and if it isn't good enough he can do it himself

Newyearoldhair · 03/03/2024 16:30

Id tell him to piss off.

NoCloudsAllowed · 03/03/2024 16:32

Does he get out much? Is he autistic or OCD or anything? That would drive me crazy.

T0PENNIS · 03/03/2024 16:32

We had a. Oh row today. I told him if I lived on my own I would do it how I want, he can do it all if he doesn't like how I do it. Fucking prick

He has lots of hobbies and friends! I don't know why he is so weird about it. He says he isn't weird and that I just have no clue how to hang the washing so that it drives (it's fine) and the washing up isn't good enough (it's fine)

He is actually quite nice generally but I hate this about him. I want to live on my own. Oh we do have an asd child

This would drive me mad. I was about to say to tell him to do it himself but you already did that. Stop doing whatever you can and when he complains about that you say he is the one doing it as he is not happy with your way.

@T0PENNIS had a similar thing with Dh over cooking several years ago. Apparently my cooking was fine for decades, until it wasn’t and he wanted it less spicy and like his mums. Fine! He now cooks just for himself. I no longer cook at all (time wasting chore for me and I’m perfectly fine with cheese and biscuits.) Funny thing is he makes his own food much spicier than I ever did, it’s nothing like his mothers (which was all boiled) and it’s a very boring two dish menu which often gets thrown in the bin!

This is something that would annoy me. If the place is clean, how it got that way is irrelevant once it has been done. He is being too controlling! As others said, I would let him do it all. As a side note, why is it bad to hoover the floor? I thought hoovering was better than sweeping anyway!!! Maybe I am doing it all wrong too😂

Unnecessary use of electricity apparently!

Keep doing it all wrong...then sit back put your feet up, cup of tea, book or tv.... and let him get on with it. He will soon learn.

I'd leave it to him to do 'properly'.
