His choice of music

So.... End of a long day and a long week. DH and I are listening to music. We start to listen to a track from an album we both used to like back in the day. Track finishes.

I say, can we listen to the next track on the album? He says I want to listen to this (track from a band I have never heard of) and puts it on. I don't like it and leave the room, feeling like the vibe has gone.

He later justifies it by saying 'it's a thing. You play a track, I play a track'

I say, I have never heard of this thing, you didn't ask, you just went ahead and ignored me.

Seems a bit of a fuss over nothing.

It was pretty ridiculous to leave the room. Surely a bit of give and take is all that's required?

Notimeforaname · 01/03/2024 22:54

Let it go, it's not a problem. Let him listen to the song he likes!!

So you wanted to choose the next track and left the room in a huff because he chose?

Why do you think your choice is more important than his?

Seems fair that you take it in turns to be honest. If he kept putting his on then I'd have an issue with it.

Maybe he didn't like the track you suggested, would you have been fine with him leaving the room because 'the vibe had gone' or expected him to shrug it off and wait until the next one?
