It’s a school admissions one, sorry.

Our son didn’t get any of his preferred secondary schools. He’s been allocated a place at a failing school that is further from us than any of the preference schools.

We are just a mile from his first choice school.

I feel so defeated by this system. He’s had a rough time at primary and this just feels like the final kicker. We’ve only just got through a police investigation from the last bullying incident he endured.

Im trying to gather the resources to fight hard, again, for my lovely, middle of the road, cheeky boy to just have a fair shot.

Do you live in the priority admissions area for your first choice?

Do get on waiting lists, I was suprised how many people I knew who got a higher choice from waiting lists.

Appeal it, I know several people who have won appeals for secondary school places.
If the bullying is relevant to the place (avoiding the bullies for example) then use the police reports and anything you have as evidence at the appeal hearing.
On the flip side, if the bullies aren't going to the school you've been given, could it be a chance for a fresh start somewhere away from them? Sometimes failing schools have more support to improve than others.
I agree the system is rubbish and mostly unfair.
