To really object to radio ads?

I've started listening to commercial radio again recently, and the ads are really getting on my wick.

I don't mind the odd jingle, and the reallyreallyfastbitabouttermsandconditionsattheend, but the government ads about car tax and benefit fraud and what not are really bloody aggressive and threatening. I think they're out of order, but I think I'm being a bit unreasonable.

But I was enjoying singing along to the Sugababes earlier and suddenly I was being aurally assaulted by some bloke telling me he was coming to get me for benefit fraud. Which I'm not committing, but anyway.

And Sam Tyler reminding me that Hepatitis C is a bit nasty.

And the brains faggots ones are just toe-curling. 'I like a woman with brains - brains faggots' I mean, who the hell is that aimed at??

I stopped listening to commecial radio because of adverts.....more ads than music on my local station!!!!

I hate the one for "mattress man" and oh no ive just heard it on the tv now tooo.............."when you call the mattress man forget about the rest" AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHH

i found on our local radio that the ads were vastly more interesting than the rubbish dj's, however i dont know if you get the one with all the ring tones that turns into a police siren, god its soooooo annoying....

That's why I can't deal with Classic FM - you get all relaxed and sleepified with some classical piece and just as you're nodding off, BANG there's an obnoxious series of ads waiting to bait you into utter sleeplessness.

And the patronising ones for property buyers who make it sound like they're all sympathetically waiting in the wings to step in and sort out your debts, oh there's just the little matter that they will then own your home

They are horrible of course. That is why you must listen to the BBC instead.

I can't get a clear signal for BBC local radio on my hifi, though. It's sodding Touch or Heart Fm or nowt.

I suppose I should thank my lucky stars that they only have the ones to encourage teenagers to use condoms on late at night. "Want respect? Don't bloody listen to crappy eighties love songs on local radio, you pillock"

why would you listen to commercial radio if you find ad's annoying?

I'm thinking of ditching commercial radio.

If I have to listen to that irritating estuary child cheerfully telling us about 'fishporce' one more time I will climb into the radio and ring his bloody neck. I mean, what kid gets excited about a furniture shop? A very dull one, that's who, and obviously the spawn of Mr and Mrs Personality-Free who only like things that are beige and have the taste in furniture of someone very old with piles and a dicky hip.

I may have let said child wind me up a little too often. What I actually do is change stations when he starts squeaking, the little bollix.

Radio 4 doesn't cut the mustard in this instance. Great for listening to when I'm feeling all urbane and conversational, but recently, I just want some pop music to bop along to. I'm resorting to CDs now, and that's just a faff.

Get a DAB radio and dive into the BBC's fabulous output! No Walter Wall's Carpet Warehouse ads there.

I can't receommend 6 Music highly enough. I start my day on 6 Music with Shaun Keaveney (or the marvellous Natasha at the weekend). I also listen to Edith Bowman on Radio 1 and Radcliffe and Marconi on Radio Two in the evening. I find the music on daytime Radio Two (Terry, Ken and Steve in particular) far too MOR for me.

The music they play on 6 Music is excellent. I feel like I am in touch with what's going on without the latest crap band being forced down my throat.
