AIBU to be disappointed

My husband took our 2 boys to his parents for a week over half term. When he returned I was excited to spend their first day with them all, however my husband asked if it was ok for him to go to the gym. AIBU to be disappointed that he didn't want to spend the day with me after a week apart?

Perhaps after a week with the boys and his parents he needed a bit of time to himself?

I’d be ok with this, I mean it was just a week and he’d only be gone a couple of hours or so, you get to spend the time with the kids.

He’s had the kids all week and he wants a few hours of the day to himself. Sounds completely reasonable to me and you’re taking it too personally. Presumably he did also spend some time with you?

He probably wanted some time to do his own thing.

I can see your point of view but being married to someone who would live in the gym if possible, I really wouldn't take it to heart. He's probably thinking he's had the boys for a week and you can catch up with them while he gets some peace and quiet. Or he's got chicken legs like my DH and doesn't want to skip legs day 🍗🍗

Unless he spends 12hrs at the gym, he is hardly not spending the day with you.

After a week with my kids I'd want some 'me time' as well.

Its allowed. You're also allowed to be disappointed of course but he didn't actually do anything wrong or rude.

Surely he wasn't going to the gym all day and perhaps needed a break an a workout? YABU

Did he go to the gym for the entire day? If not YABVU
