To be annoyed that Stonewall got money from Wheel of Fortune tonight?

Given the huge controversy surrounding them, I was a bit annoyed that they got money donated (and free prime-time publicity) from Wheel of Fortune this evening. Considering making a complaint to ITV...

Assuming they're a registered charity, it's not for ITV to judge whether they're an appropriate recipient or not.

ButterflyTable · 24/02/2024 23:11

Yes I was too!

SecondUsername4me · 24/02/2024 23:12

Was it donated by a celeb? Just so I know which celeb to unfollow

ToftySheepdog · 24/02/2024 23:12

Gok Wan. 🙄

Janesmom · 24/02/2024 23:13

You don’t like a charity so no one else is entitled to either?

Entitled much?

ButterflyTable · 24/02/2024 23:13

I was annoyed with Graham too! Yes Gok Wan

This. You might as well start being annoyed that people are donating to dog charities when there are people dying in the Middle East, etc.

Thisilldo · 24/02/2024 23:15

Not just me then. Absolutely disgraceful on prime time Saturday night TV.

Gok Wan. 🙄

Ugh, what a walker! Went off him years ago.

WallaceinAnderland · 24/02/2024 23:43

I think Stonewall have caused a lot of harm and continue to do so but they are a registered charity and Gok Wan is free to donate to whichever cause he supports. Tells me more about him tbh.

hoarahloux · 24/02/2024 23:44

I'm happy about it! Gok is a good person 🙂

kitsuneghost · 24/02/2024 23:46

I hate it when they choose animal charities. What a waste.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 25/02/2024 00:07

Why complain, it was Gok’s choice not yours.

Yeah, fuck animals 🤡

I remember once people used to be able to disagree with a decision someone else made that had zero impact on themselves, and then just go about their day like rational beings and think no more of it.

It would appear he's not a good person if he gives to a 'charity' that calls lesbians 'sexual racists' if they won't sleep with men with cocks.

Is that a spelling mistake? 😜

Puzzlefactor · 25/02/2024 08:44

Celebrities can donate to who they like. They don't have to run it past you first for approval.

I imagine because gay charities are close to their heart. Why shouldn't they give to charities that deal with the issues some of them have faced.

I thought a lot of people gave to charities that have some personal connection to them?

So someone who has experience with cancer may donate to Cancer research or Macmillian - why don’t they donate to other issues such as British Heart Foundation?

People can choose who they donate to.

Edited

As Stonewall continually misrepresent (and I'm being polite here) the law and are trying to remove safeguards for women and girls the decision does impact on me, and on other women.

Their work in schools is dangerous and against safeguarding so they shouldn't be allowed anywhere near children.

Vousnepouvezpasdiscuteravecdesstupides · 25/02/2024 09:15

Wow, you judge people's charity donation choices becuse you deem them unworthy
How sodding arrogant and entitled can you get??

Cazpar · 25/02/2024 09:20

"I don't like it therefore it shouldn't be on TV and I'm going to complain and it should be removed."

This is exactly the same TRA tactics employed when someone they don't like is on stage etc and then the GC crowd go nuts at the censorship.

The hypocrisy is unreal.
