Hi all sorry I KNOW this shouldn't be in AIBU but posting for traffic as I'm on a wee trip to Lyme Regis with two friends and we really want to go for a lovely cream tea scones etc today in Lyme Regis and was wondering if any local mumsnetters out there could point us in the direction of a nice place that does great scones and clotted cream? It would need to be in the town itself as we don't have transport to go out of the town. TIA 🫶🏻

Did you say hello to the Mary Anning statue?

carelesser · 25/02/2024 20:10

Cream first, always.

Jam first is sacrilege.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 25/02/2024 20:11

I was in Lyme this weekend too!
no cream tea for me, as I live in Devon anyway so always have the kit in my house.
i did have three pasties though 🤭

I fell and hurt my ankle badly at Lyme Regis - I felt like I did Louisa Musgrove proud as Persuasion is the whole reason I wanted to go.

Hope you had a lovely time OP.

That’s what I always think of when I see Lyme 😂

Never been to Lyme but we had a lovely cream tea in Dorset a couple of days ago.

Obligatory pic supplied. The scones were so soft and warm from the oven, I’ve never had them like that.

It was so lovely!! I'll be back to Dorset and plan to visit Devon and Somerset in the next year too - I'm Irish so it involves a flight but so worth it, lovely restaurants and cafes and friendly locals 🙌🏻

I’m a Somerset girl living in Dorset ( but currently in NZ) hence the late post but i always do Jam first because i like cream more , so a big dollop on the top is like the icing on the cake
