Inspired by at least 2 threads on here today...

Many years ago my Mum dropped my brother off at school (boys grammar, in case you were wondering).

He walked across the carpark, turned around, and shouted,'Mum! Will Dad be in the Volvo or the Mercedes this evening?'

(Lighthearted and definitely taking the piss out of myself and my family).

I think you need to look up the definition of stealth brag.

SausageRollsWithMustard · 23/02/2024 20:17

Yeah, taking the piss out of the not-so-stealth brags on here today.

But thank you for your input 😆

Yikes

Bloomingdaffs · 23/02/2024 20:21

Eeeeek.

ErnestCelendine · 23/02/2024 20:34

What is this?

MustBeNapTime · 23/02/2024 20:36

Volvo or Mercedes? Surely you mean Ferrari or Bugatti, Dahling?! 😉

Makes no sense. And had no point. Are we supposed to be be impressed by a Volvo, or two cars, or the grammar schools? Nothing funny about this. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Vous ne savez pas comment le dire en francais?

Mon dieu et tout les croissants!

Bloomingdaffs · 23/02/2024 20:38

Mine were always picked up from school(comprehensive) by the chauffeur in the Rolls Royce.

HannaHat · 23/02/2024 20:39

This was fun.

Someone at my church drives one of these and I wish he could afford a chauffeur, because it causes such a spectacle.

It takes up so much damn space and if you get stuck behind him while he tries to manoeuvre into a space, that’s the whole Sunday gone.

Beautiful car, but a 🤬nuisance!

PurpleFlower1983 · 23/02/2024 20:44

A primary school friend of mine’s dad had a Rolls Royce, no one believed him so we all went round there one night to see it 🤣

chiwwy · 23/02/2024 20:45

Is this what passes for humour these days?

No one gives a shit if you or boyo went to grammar school.

This isn't a stealth brag. It's a barely amusing anecdote from someone who grew up with two reasonably nice cars.

Toottooot · 23/02/2024 22:01

Sides are splitting min.

TeacherCollection · 23/02/2024 22:03

I’m embarrassed for you OP. Some thoughts should just remain in our heads.

SocksAndTheCity · 23/02/2024 22:06

God, this last twenty four hours has been like Battle Of The Desperate Attention Seekers on here.

At least the cycle twat seems to have taken the hint, plus the above is less painfully unfunny and try hard than that pile of shite about the child with the croissant, or whatever it was. Where's the wine and pubes troll when you need them?

I need to get out more 😂

Do you ever take your own advice? OP meant no harm. Her humour didn't land with some of you. Absolutely no need to be so nasty though.

Whattodo112222 · 23/02/2024 22:08

Op is getting some unnecessary stick here. It's lighthearted people!!

Parapapampam · 23/02/2024 22:19

Goodness, OP just made a harmless lighthearted post, why are some posters being so horrid.

OddityOddityOdd · 23/02/2024 22:27

Dear Lord, did the British sense of humour depart with Brexit? It's funny because it's so not anything to boast about. it's funny because it's like saying should I wear the Primark or the M&S to the royal garden party? It's funny because it's nonsense. Mentioning the grammar school is also nonsense, it's funny because it was said in that setting where more likely jags & range rovers are the norm. It's funny because it's taking the Mick of people who care about such things. What a humourless lit of posters on here tonight.

Whatthefuck3456 · 23/02/2024 22:27

I hope he got picked up in the Mercedes OP 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

mrlistersgelfbride · 23/02/2024 22:31

This isn't going well OP 😅 but seeing as you asked...

I ran 3 marathons in consecutive years when I was younger. I knocked 20 minutes of my time between the first and second. I only knocked off 10 minutes between the second and third as I was pregnant.
