Is it normal to have swelling down there every 4/5 months or so

Every 4/5 months or so I seem to have mild labial swelling. I’ve connected it to having an itch when I wipe and then scratching with toilet paper too vigorously. But it could be the other way around. But that may be a symptom not the cause.

Goes by itself very easily in a few days.

Hygiene is good, wipe front to back etc

Is that normal?

Could it be untreated thrush recurring?

Could be a Batholins cyst coming and going. I get them every so often (not as often as you, though) and they always go by themselves, but it does feel swollen and sore for a few days.

No I never have swelling. Definitely see the doctor.

Oh so I do have a small pea size lump.

Could be that, then. I know that some people recommend sitting in a hot bath if it gets too painful. Definitely see the doctor if it gets huge or if you get fever, though.
