To try and squeeze in a week’s holiday abroad?

DH and I can’t decide if a holiday would be a good idea or more stress than it’s worth.

I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant and due in July. I have had a horrendous few months of feeling nauseous and I am finally feeling better. I’ve hardly left the house other than work for months and DH and I have hardly spent any quality time together. We would absolutely love a week in the sun in mid March.

We will be moving house in around early April (entry date still being agreed). We have a 2 bedroom flat to pack up.

Do you think it would be worth squeezing a holiday in in March, or is that valuable time we could spend getting organised for moving and baby coming?

YABU = don’t go on holiday
YANBU = go and enjoy a week in the sun before the madness of a house move and baby

Book it and go and relax.

Last hurrah before baby comes, book it, and enjoy it!

Thank you! Usually booking a holiday would be a no brainier, I love nothing more than a week in the sun! I’m just worried about timescales but I suppose what difference will a week make…

The difference of a week's holiday abroad will be worth so much more than an extra week's prep (stressing) time.

Also lifelong memories are far more likely to made abroad than at home 🤗

Great point! I would just be stressing at home. Hopefully we’d be able to fully relax and enjoy our holiday

I had a baby last July so was in a similar position to you time wise and I so wish we’d squeezed in a holiday while we could! Go and enjoy!

Go for it. It's your last chance of a stress free holiday for several years. DD1 (23) was born in September and we went to a quiet resort in Mallorca in the May of that year; we had a great time.
