I take my DS every week to playgroup and the first thing he runs for is the dolls he loves to carry them around. So I bought him his own this week and he loves it, gives it drinks from his water bottle , takes her hat on and off and even gives it cuddles. It’s so sweet, he also does the same to his Simba teddy. He’s really started getting a like for things lately , he really loves dinosaurs too. Anyway just been for a Sunday lunch and 4 people out of 14 had something to say ? Along the lines of ‘ just abit weird’ ‘ at least wait till he’s older don’t force it on him’

like what the hell ? I bought him it as he clearly really liked them. Are my husbands family just old school ? What do you guys think

I bought the Bonnie doll for my DD but she never played with it. 2 years later my DS was born and he absolutely loved her. Took her everywhere with him. Pushed her in dolls pram. Fed her fake bottle. He's an adult now and I still have Bonny in the top of my wardrobe.

DS1 loved playing with his cousin's old dolls' house, which was kept at their granny's. FIL had a right face on him every time DS played with it. He ended up sending it to SIL who had 2 daughters, even though he knew DS got so much joy from it. I bought him his own in the end (DS, not FIL😆) I remember my mum said why on earth wouldn't boys be interested in dolls' houses, considering they live in houses themselves?!

Thank you everyone , it’s been so so lovely reading all your comments , stories and experiences with your own little ones, really put a big smile on my face and gave me a good few laughs. So appreciated 😊 I am also thinking of buying him a pram for it (and his teddies) the next time we’re in Smyths but he’s only just trying to walk but maybe that will help him actually! Thank you all again

@steff13 😂😂😂 my husband said when we first got it that we should give her a different name as that is all he thinks of!

@Winnipeggy thank you for your lovely comment , you’re so so right!

DS is 13 months and the last month or so has really started getting a keen interest in specific toys and getting favourites. He’s also started getting so affectionate with us and his soft toys and annoyingly the cats 😂 he loves to give them/us drinks, cuddles and kisses.

Annabell is just a baby. Like Chase is a puppy.

This reminded me of a sad moment that happened when my son was 8 years old. He was proudly pushing his newborn baby sister in a pram in town when a complete stranger made a horrible comment to him, thinking she was a doll. He refused to ever push her again.

My DS had a Baby Chou Chou. He named her Caramel (brown eyes) and loved her dearly.
