To ask the fellow health anxious to talk me down

Healthy anxiety for myself and kids due to DH dying of freak cancer very young and no one spotting it until a few weeks before he died.

Last few days headaches. Eyestrain. Went to opticians and I do need a new prescription so that is ordered.

Still convinced I have a brain tumor. Also have some occasional ringing in ears, but I've had that before and to be honest I play my headphones much too loud, always have done; so I think I just notice the ringing when I'm anxious.

Yes I'm anxious and stressed, it's been a really tough few months.

But frequent headaches and trouble with eyes has me doom scrolling,

Tell me stories of being convinced you have a brain tumor and it not being the case.

And huge apologies to anyone suffering from a tumor, I hope this post isn't offensive.

Thanks in advance Mumsnet

Hello, you've had a tough time & your concerns are understandable. I've had headaches for years, frequently waking me from sleep, and a few months ago started having episodes where I lose the vision in my right eye for a couple of hours and struggle to read texts etc unless my head is at a certain angle. I was convinced there's something wrong with me, more than a headache/migraine. My GP tells me it's hormonal - eye tests are clear so I've resigned myself to thinking if it was anything serious I would be dead already. Are you seeking help for your anxiety? You've been through such a difficult time & although your fears are understandable it's very very unlikely that lightning would strike twice.

@Goalandgate thanks for replying, that sounds so stressful. Is it peri-menopause for you?

I don't think so as I'm early 30's. I do have PCOS and basically my body hates me, they've never been able to figure out why it happens but put it down to hormones. My late mum was the same so maybe hereditary? I also get really bad headaches in the sun so always need sunglasses nearby, just incase that helps you at all.

All those symptoms are very normal symptoms of stress, eye strain, screen time and tiredness. I have all of them regularly on and off for years.

I think you're fine
