To think that Boots Advantage Card is worse than it used to be?

You get less points now and it also seems to be impossible to get a replacement plastic card if you lose it. It used to be so much better than this.

AIBU to think that Boots Advantage Card is now worse than it used to be?

Maybe I'm just annoyed though because I've lost my card and can't find any way to get another one. The only option I can find now I've lost my card is to use a digital card on the app but I prefer plastic/physical cards for this sort of things.

And like I said, you also get less points now than you used to which means it takes longer to build points up now than it used to.

You get fewer points but the digital app does away with all those paper coupons I kept losing so I'm more likely to get my bonus points. I get extra points on baby stuff for being in the parenting club.

So yes the advantage card scheme is not as rewarding as it once was however it is still points for things I'd spend money on at boots anyway so I'm not going to complain about once in a while getting a free lunch from the meal deal.

I agree, it defiantly takes much longer to build up points. I feel like I always had money to spend on my Boots card 15 or so years ago but these days it never seems to build up.

The physical card thing doesn't really bother me as I just tend to add cards to my Apple wallet and rarely carry a purse, however I feel they should be available to those that request them.

I much prefer the digital card and adding the double points etc the dog ate my plastic card so it was it bits. Def takes longer to build up, I’ve got £130 on mine I need to use but can’t decide what on

I'm still peevish that after saving points and earning £100 ready to spend, they "accidentally" did something to my account wiped it, and refused to do anything about it.

Have not stepped in to another Boots since in a silent protest.

It’s weird to me that you’d prefer a plastic card!

I don’t really build points up there because I barely shop there if ever anymore. So much better choice and offers elsewhere plus my local shops are small and don’t carry the full ranges of anything and the app is atrocious for browsing. So I just don’t bother.

It's nowhere near as rewarding as it used to be. You used to be able to combine multiple vouchers in one transaction but that seems to be gone.

It’s always annoyed me with Boots that you can’t use the points as money towards something - you have to have enough points for the entire item. I don’t see why it makes any difference to them. I don’t spend that much in Boots really so it takes me forever to build up enough points to buy anything.

Stopped using boots because of problems with the advantage card.

There are extra discounts now if you have a card I think.

If you want to get a new plastic card, pick one up in store, then you can link it to your account in the app.

This isn't possible though? The stores near me are saying that they don't have any plastic cards anymore now and that it is all on the app now?

You get less points per £ spent now, but you do get 10% off Boots name brand items and special offers (like Tesco clubcard do).

I still seem to be able to combine multiple offers on the app, the app is pretty clunky though.

Also maybe call or message customer services to get a new card?

They wipe your points after a year I think. I got an email suggesting I go in store to use my points before they were invalidated. So within the week I went to store to use points and they had been wiped off. That’s £36 lost thanks for that boots. I’m not bothering with card any more and have barely been back in store since. 😡

😯 I didn't realise that they wiped them. I'd better buy something with them, pronto.

Boots is rubbish, the Advantage card is rubbish, the website is rubbish and it won’t be long before it disappears.

I didn't know this either, how often does it wipe them?

It used to be one of the best reward schemes, now it’s crap. It was the only thing that kept me loyal to Boots. I think they’re foolish to change it and it’ll worsen their financial problems rather than improving them. I will only buy products from Boots that I can’t get elsewhere e.g. No 7 makeup.

They've even messed about with No 7 make up too @WGACA Changed all the eye shadows to inferior quality and shades and mascara not as good.

Thanks for the heads up about their mascara - will avoid! I use No7 foundation and I also buy the concealer and lip gloss.

Same. I had £60 on my card. Then they had a cyber issue (or so they said), all point gone and never re-instated. I rarely go to Boots any more as a result.
