Broken glass in our dinner! AIBU?

I have severe anxiety so I’m currently getting myself into a bit of a state!

DH cooked dinner for us this evening. As he was taking one of the glass roasting dishes out of the cupboard, the other glass dish somehow smashed slightly (it hit another dish and the edge broke off). He cooked dinner and just there, he was cleaning up the dish and cut his finger on a tiny bit of broken glass that was in the dish that he cooked our meal in.

He has apologised for not realising that a bit of glass had ended up in the dish.

Im now in a panic because we have eaten the meal. What if there was any other glass in the veg?

Im panicking and not sure if I’m being rational due to my anxiety. Any advice would be gratefully received.

You would have felt it if there was glass in your food. Try and relax

It will be fine. I doubt there's any in there that's large enough to harm you

PossumintheHouse · 17/02/2024 18:05

You’ll be fine, OP. You would have quickly realised if you were chomping on glass. Try to relax.

I'm sure you'll be fine. DH broke the dish he'd started dinner in and we found a few crunchy bits! Everyone is still alive.

If the glass was small enough that you didn't even notice it in your mouth, which it would have had to be unless you don't chew your food, you have nothing to worry about.

Well OP if there DID turn out to be glass and you never tasted it, or felt it even as it went down your throat. Call the Guinness Book of World Records, or whatever other org it is that deals with superhuman feats because THAT is worthy of an entry.

I wouldn’t worry about it now, you’ve already ate it.
