Cost of running electric car

Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me how much an ejectric car has added to their monthly electricity bill? It's 100% electric I'm interested in doing mainly running around mileage with the occasional few hundred mile trip so about 5 a year if those where it would be 400 miles added to the usual.
Apologies if there's a site that would tell me this but wanted personal experience. TIA.

There are specific tariff for electric cars

We are on the octopus EV tariff and do about 2k mile per month. It’s added about £70 to our bill.

You need an online calculator. You may get misinformation here as some newspapers are campaigning against them.

Mine was very efficient, so 4 miles per kilowatt hour - this is the figure to look at when choosing an EV, rather than just the range.

So I did about 200 miles a month (I don't drive too much!) average, therefore an extra 50 kWh on my bills. My average unit rate was 25p, so an extra 12.50 a month.

You can get ev tariffs from your supplier as little as 5p a kWh.

I spent 50 a month less on petrol.

So, quids in! And a nicer drive to boot.

Since April last year I have spent £289 on charging my all electric car and done 6200 miles
Petrol equivalent would have been £1492 so I've saved about £1200 in 10 months

I use OVO anytime, so only pay 10p per kwh to charge it

We charge at home and it's cheap to run. You get electric car tariffs which are cheaper overnight but they are only worthwhile if you are doing a few more miles than we do (it's a second car for us).

It can be expensive and time consuming to charge when out and about but we really don't need to do that very often. We get 250 miles from a charge so we're rarely ever more than that in one go.

I LOVE it. It's so fun and easy to drive, quiet, it's just fab.
