To ask if you have Botox.....

...How long it takes to see a result?

I had my first botox injections done on Thursday. Day 5 today and still absolutely nothing. The practitioner said most customers notice something by day 5, with the full result 7-10 days in. She said although they say 2 weeks, if nothing has happened by day 10/11, it's likely a top up will be needed.

I messaged a couple of friends who have it and they both said they start noticing results by day 3/4 which is why I'm a bit worried.

Anyone take longer than 5 days to notice results?

I get it but have never really taken much notice of when it kicks in on my forehead.

I do know what crows feet are really fast for me - probably two days, and my forehead takes a bit longer. So 5/6 days probably sounds about right.

I would notice by day 5 for sure.

It's your first time though, and it can be trial and error. She didn't use enough. But all will be rectified at your top-up, so don't worry.

I don't think it ever kicked in for me until well into the second week. But either way, this is nothing to worry about. Top ups are quite normal and my practitioner books one when I have my first round of injections. More often than not I have to go back in two weeks and have a top up either to freeze things some more or correct asymmetry. She only charges me £25 for top up so I always just work it out into the total cost of treatment.

Yes she’s right it takes about 2 weeks to see/feel the final result and then they can assess if you need a top up, it’s standard.

I get it for pain, so I can really tell when it’s working or not.

My first time it took about a week before I noticed anything, then had top up after 14 days. Now I normally notice a difference about 3 days in. As has been said, don’t worry it’ll get sorted at your top up as it takes a while for the practitioner to work out how many units you need so they always put a smaller amount in to start with rather than too much.

Okay, thanks all. I'll keep my fingers crossed I start noticing some sort of difference in the next couple of days!

I generally see results in day 3 and full results by day 7 but for some it takes much longer.
The first time I had it she used a lower amount as its better to go easy that over do it- hardly saw any results that time until I had the 2 week review top up
