To have Jan/Feb blues

Since Christmas have felt out of sorts. Anxious, bit low and teary, usual ups and downs of work/home life which I normally keep in perspective are feeling a bit overwhelming. The news and state of the world seems depressing. Am supplementing with Vit D and iron and keeping an eye on thyroid (these have all previously dragged me down when not as they should be). HOWEVER, yesterday and the day before I felt incredibly upbeat and positive. The weather was much better, loads of sun, and it also coincided with me ovulating. Today I am back in the doldrums. AIBU to think that this time of year can simply do this to us?

It is depressing with all this rain, and annoyingly I was working Sunday and Monday when the weather was lovely, and off today when it’s miserable. But also time seems to be flying by, it’ll be April and hopefully lovely spring weather (too optimistic??) before we know it.

Every year I really struggle at this time. In fact for me it lasts from January to April. I always know it’s coming and I vow I will cope better but I don’t. This year is worse than ever. I do plan nice things, I try to put coping strategies into place, sadly none of the strategies have worked this time.

I actually feel how you do around November/December time. I enjoy January and February because the days are getting longer...it's now still light at 5pm. It's also quite mild...though rainy! Spring will be here soon!

Totally the time of year, I am like this every year. It's rubbish. Yesterday was a beautiful day and it's mad how just a blue sky and some sunshine can lighten your mood. On a positive note the evenings will now start getting rapidly lighter, the daffs are coming though, Spring is in sight.

It can be a tough time of year, it’s been a long time since I felt heat from the sun on my face. Barring the odd sunny day it’s been months of grey, cold, wet and windy weather where I live.
Good news is that my daffs are coming out and the clocks will change next month. More sunlight and a bit of heat is on the way.

I’m the same in October and November. I get really low and miserable. I brighten up in December because Christmas is coming!!

I am fine in Jan and Feb because I am busy planning holidays and fun stuff to do later in the year.

I am booking a winter sun trip for Nov this year though as I know I really need it for my MH

I hate January with a passion and have felt much better now it's done.
We try to plan some every week in the horrible months - even just a walk, coffee or the cinema.
