Hanging my notice in..

Been at a job 9 months. I was offered it by a guy as he knew DH.. he's been nothing but pleasant to me. The thing is it's poorly paid, highly stressful and involves a lot of unpaid CPD etc. it's not worth it for my mental health, I can afford to not work until DC are older.

So I've decided to leave, which I feel guilty for. I won't see the owner until next week, but I will see the manager tomorrow. Would I be unreasonable to hand my notice in to the manager and then send an email/message to the owner to say just to let you know, I handed my noticed in today?

what is the notice period?

absolutely drop the person you know, the owner, a line first. common courtesy of nothing else. how close is he and dh?

I think that’s fine.

@theeyeshaveit82 It's 4 weeks. Not especially, he was a client of DH's previously. Enough to stop and have a chat but not enough to call each other out of the blue.
