For those who suffer.

When you feel the fight or flight come on and you know things aren't right?
I read if you sing, chant or hum it can help you back out of it?
Has anyone tried this, or know anything else you can do?
It's such a horrible feeling, you feel like how can I get out of this and go back to my normal self?

It is a horrible feeling.

Have you tried yoga? I've not been for a few years but I still use some of the breathing techniques.

My go to is to breathe in deeply and slowly, hold it/pause fir a couple seconds, and then slowly release. A few of these, focusing on the pause help. Sometimes I visualise breathing in calmness and breathing out anxiety.

I think humming could also work well.

Think about posture too - consciously unclench your jaw, drop your shoulders, sit/stand confidently. Focus on breathing slowly and deeply.

Exercise works for me, a run ideally or if not, a brisk walk.

Thank you so much for this thread. I've been suffering horribly recently. I go for a walk, which helps but there's not always time for that. x
