Hi , I've the coil in nearly 4 years , it didn't stop my periods just made them light and shorter .

I got what I thought was my period 12 days ago, very light spotting, no need for a pad, just blood everytime I wiped after a week.

Cramps on my right side at my back .

This isn't normal is it ? No sign of it going away . I'm 40 and I've the mirena coil in.

Don't want to waste doctors time but I would like to get a scan done. MRI noted I had a small 1.7cm growth there , it was just noted , nothing was said by my doctor other than they are normal in women my age , I'm bricking it .

No harm in seeing a GP if you're worried. However I've been having 10-12 day periods for months now (I'm 31), my GP referred me for a scan and the hospital refused it. The GP wasn't surprised, she said they (that department) hardly ever accept referrals.

Definitely go to the doctor.

When did you have an MRI, was it a pelvic MRI and what symptoms were being investigated at the time?

Go to the GP. Do you know how old your Mum was when her peri periods changed? Sometimes we have the same window of menopause symptoms. A growth can mean cyst or polyp, polyps can cause bleeding.
