New driver, messed up today. 3 points?

Rush hour, new spiral roundabout .. I panicked whilst leaving roundabout, wasn't sure I was in the right lane and drove over double white solid lines - with hatched markings inside- for a few seconds. I know it's an offense worth 3 points and a fine.
I wasnt stopped by police so I'm wondering how likely it is that I've been caught on camera and will get a letter through in the next 14 days. I feel sick and like such an idiot.
Has anyone else done this and what was the outcome?

I think the chances of that being a problem are tiny. I wouldn’t worry!

As far as I know cameras only catch red light jumpers, speeders, and occasionally yellow box junction sitters.

GlitteryUnicornSparkles · 09/02/2024 18:37

I’m fairly confident you’ll be fine.

dreamygirl25 · 09/02/2024 18:37

Nothing will happen!

Aquamarine1029 · 09/02/2024 18:37

I wouldn't worry about this at all. Drive as much as you can to get more confident.

dreamygirl25 · 09/02/2024 18:38

Al new drivers are neurotic. Congrats on passing your test. It will be fine. :)

35965a · 09/02/2024 18:38

Id say 99% chance nothing will happen

I think you'll be okay, try not to worry.

Amba1998 · 09/02/2024 18:44

Literally nothing. You get points for speeding on camera and maybe running a red light if there is a camera. There aren’t cameras dotted all over the country just for spotting minor driving errors

fluffycatkins · 09/02/2024 18:45

Unless I'm missing something this is an absolute non event.
You are going to be fine.

SaltyGod · 09/02/2024 18:48

I don’t think you get points for driving at the edge of a road for a few moments.

Its easy to become anxious when first driving solo, but you’ll quickly gain confidence with each journey.

And honestly, we all make the occasional small mistake when driving. It’s not a big deal and you learn from each one.

2dogsandabudgie · 09/02/2024 18:51

I do that sometimes, done it on motorways, and I've been driving for years. Honestly I really wouldn't worry about it

Bluewallss · 09/02/2024 19:09

Where does the council have the funds to monitor the camera to catch a glimpse of someone making a mistake.

Youll be fine. You’ve learned for next time.
