Conjunctivitis and the Dentist

Hello all. On Wednesday I came down with a nasty case of conjunctivitis after spending time with a dear friend and her little one who was very stuffed up and unwell (I think its the worst "illness" I've ever had and I hardly get ill)

My Dentist receptionist wasn't very helpful when I tried to inform her I couldn't make my scheduled appointment. She kept telling me I had to keep it or I'd be charged. I told her three or four times I had conjunctivitis and it was contagious and she didn't seem to believe me. I would send pictures on here but I wouldn't want to put any of you off if you're eating

AIBU in just not attending? Surely I've done my part and its up to the receptionist to let my dentist know now right?

I'd send them an email confirming your illness and that you'd advised receptionist.

Turn up anyway, tell the dentist in person, you won't infect anyone that way but you won't get fobbed off by the receptionist either. If you don't show and they deregister you it'll be a nightmare.

yes I'd turn up and let the dentist decide if they want to treat you, with you explaining that you tried to cancel but didn't want to be charged

@Nearlythere80 I did just that. Should have seen the receptionists face when I turned up. She went white as a ghost

Im also looking at a new dentist but new to my area (just moved after a messy breakup last year)
