Every time I go to the hairdresser I show them multiple pictures of the type of style I want. I know I can achieve it, as I had a somewhat similar style about 15 years ago. But now, I always walk out with hair like Kate Middleton. A few layers, and some shorter sections round the front, looks fine - but not at all what I asked for. Maybe the salons near me are too suburban and boring so they only know how to do three standard hairstyles

You probably need to find a different hairdresser. I had to try lots until I finally found the one who understands me/my hair perfectly
