After a few years of reading about a mental health condition whenever it was randomly mentioned by a poster, I was able to identify that I also have the same medical condition. I had heard of the condition but didn't understand it at all.

The knowledge gained from Mum's net over the years helped educate me a lot. Anyway, I recently got formally diagnosed with it after years on the waiting list, and everything I learned from Mumsnet was correct!

AIBU to think that Mumsnet can be a tool to help people get accurate medical information/advice in this day and age? I know most people are not doctors, but there is an element of lived experience.

I thought I had dreadful fungal infection/athletes foot that had been going on for months and getting worse despite anti fungal treatments. Various internet searches of MN and I found that it was in fact dyshidrotic eczema. It cleared up very quickly with the right treatment - amazing!
