Sunday night fear

Anyone else want to join me in the Sunday night fear before the dreaded Monday morning? It’s silly for me because I actually like my job and it’s always fine when I get into work but every Sunday I get a knot in my stomach and have a feeling of impending doom. I don’t really understand why, I guess it’s because from tomorrow until Friday my time is not my own 😬 must be so much worse for the many people who hate their job.

Fear would be a strong word to describe it but I sort of get it. I love my job and also feel absolutely fine once I get going but I feel the need to emotionally prepare for the week ahead. I am always going and double-checking my work diary on Sunday afternoon to reassure myself that it's going to be fine and I can still squeeze things I need to do inbetween/after work. Putting a few nice things in a diary after work helps with that.

I am here because of this too

I suffered from this for many years, retired now but can still feel it and then I remember!

I'm not afraid of Monday mornings. I hate my job but know that I could have the whole place shut down and 1000 people out of a job with one twitter post so I endure it for the laughs.

I get quite relieved that I'm going back to work where I'm in control and efficient rather than home where I am a skivvy for the children and have no mental space... working full time and a single parent of 3 so heavily biased against weekends 😂

I am literally here on MN to work out what I can do that avoids the Sunday night dread and how I can make my life better. Currently have a freelance client and hate them.

Same but amplified as I’ve had this week off annual leave

I'm absolutely in the Sunday Night Dread club. I'm lucky enough I have got the job I've been working towards since I was 21, but it's so stressful. I've just plucked up the courage to open my work inbox and thankfully no stinkers so thankfully I can enjoy the last 4 hours of the weekend without an extra layer of stress!

Yes, me. I hate my job, been low-key depressed ever since I started it. Have applied for and got a place on a course to retrain but that doesn't start until September. Trying to develop coping strategies to mitigate the hollow feeling.
