DD is 8 and is close friends with K, a girl in her class. K lives nearby, and for the past year has been regularly coming to our house, about twice a month. The circumstances are always always the same: K’s mum phones on a weekend and asks if K can come over later that day, and we usually say yes.
Over the Xmas holidays, she came to our house 3 times, including from 10am till 9pm, on two occasions.
After the new year, we asked if our daughter could go to K’s house. K’s mum agreed, and DD was there for 2.5 hours.
Ever since DD visited, there has no contact from K’s mum. DD and K still friends, and her mother is very polite at the school gates.
No idea why she has stopped sending her daughter to our house. I am being reasonable to think, she doesn’t want the headache of another child at her house?
