Just as the titles says please. For various reasons I've been unavailable mentally to follow the news etc and I am embarrassed to ask anyone in real life and everything I read means nothing without some background information. I feel so ignorant so if anyone has any links or news for dummies as it were. Thank you in advance.

The bbc stuff is some of the best and most impartial.
Be ware of summaries on here as people have strong views on both sides.
For me, it's an impossible situation that goes back centuries and is difficult to resolve unless both sides give ALOT of ground.

Google it.

There is no point on asking social media for a summary as any response will be heavily weighted depending on perspective.

You need to do research and arrive at your own opinion. It's too lazy to expect someone to do it for you, and of course, it's a highly emotive topic.

It's a long read, but Jerusalem is a well balanced view of the Jewish and Palestinian history.

Yes YABU to ask such a loaded question under AIBU. Ask to have this thread on the Middle East at the very least. The BBC is NOT impartial btw. I recommend i24 news for best coverage.

It will be something like Russia and Ukraine in the end, basically. Two neighbouring countries , with loads of shared exchanges throughout history, arguing who each put foot on that land and many other factors ( religious)

There's a fantastic series on BBC iplayer. The 50 year war Israel and the Arabs. It's quite old so ends after the Oslo Accords in 93. But it's brilliant and so informative
