Have you had your Tax rebates yet

Filed my tax return in November and I'm due a rebate but not received it yet.
Both last year and the year before I'd received it by now.
Has anyone else experienced a delay?
I've not attempted to phone them yet as it will be a nightmare getting through but could do with the cash.

From self-assessment? Yes I filed in Dec and got mine in Jan. You will need to log onto your account and request that it be paid to you, though, it doesn't happen automatically even if it's confirmed that you are due a rebate. You need to tell HMRC whether you want it to be held by them and taken off your tax for next year, so a form of credit to your account, or whether you want it paid into your bank account, or that of your accountant, if using. Then you need to provide your bank account details. Once you do all this it takes about a month to get the money.

I requested my rebate mid December. Nothing so far. They told me it had been taking 16 weeks but they thought it had become slightly faster.

@Horrace I didn't realise the first year and was huffing and puffing! It's really not clear. Like so much with tax... Enjoy your rebate when it drops!

@Horrace yip! filed in jan and received a cheque for a whopping amount £1347 a week and a half later!

I've been filing a few years now. Sometimes I've owed them, but them last 2 plus this year I've had decent rebates. But my menopausal brain is so fried this year, I have no memory whatsoever of having to request the money.
Anyway, I've sorted it now so hopefully nearly £900 on its way which will be nice.
