Mirena coil

Mirena coil fitted in November.

Periods are wonderful and barely there. Had it fitted to treat heavy periods that were ruining my life.

BUT I've had some weird things happen since and wonder if connected or just "luck"?

  • pulled my back in December and it's not been right since. It was my lower back and took 6 weeks to heal. But now when I stand from sitting my core sort of quivers and shakes. There's a dull ache and it feels weak. I mean it could be that it's just taking time to get better.
  • I feel like my hands are shaking and not quite accurate when I type or move. Like they aren't quite under my full control. Weird huh?! Dr says it's low vitamin d (my level is 10) so I'm on vit d tablets.

-I generally feel sore and achey all over

-twitches in leg and numb fingers sometimes and tingly lips.

Aibu to feel that all my issues started after the coil therefore connected? Anyone else had similar?

Did they check your ferritin, folate and B12 too?
Low vitamin D is awful, but so is low iron/b12 & folate. They can all cause overlapping symptoms.
With a vitamin D level that low I’d say it’s coincidental that your symptoms became noticeable after the coil was fitted rather than that being the cause.

I think it's unlikely that it's the mirena. You can have it checked that it hasn't moved or something but I would not think to blame those symptoms on the coil.

I had random quivers down one leg for months. This is before I had the could but was probably anaemic due to crazy periods. Possibly low in other areas too. I now take a daily multivitamin and it's gone.
