DS has just thrown up on my mattress. I have no bicarb or vinegar. Any tips? Posting here as in need of very quick advice!

Dishwasher salt? Scrub the mattress with washing up liquid in water, spray with zoflora or similar then soak up moisture with dishwasher salts.

Also not sure where I'm going to sleep tonight!

Have you got anything absorbent in the house? I wouldn't recommend drying with a hairdryer, from experience I can tell you mattresses melt.

In a fix maybe blot it dry with a towel then clean towel or two on top under the sheet

Won't it smell really bad if I don't clean it with something?

Yes the towels are for use after cleaning it.

Scrub it clean with soap and water, spray with zoflora and sleep on towels. Clean it again tomorrow and leave it to air through the day.

For tonight, scrape any solids off with a spoon. Put a folded towel down over it and tread it all over with your feet to get as much moisture out as you can (stand on the bed) - you may well need to use more than one towel. Put another towel down over it and then remake the bed.
First thing tomorrow, give it a scrub with a solution of washing powder or liquid, whichever you have got. Try not to get it too wet. Repeat the drying process as above, then leave the bed unmade to dry.
If you have a spot carpet cleaner, use that tomorrow instead of scrubbing and then use the same drying method.

Thank you! I hadn't even noticed he had crawled into my bed. Typical because his has a mattress protector on!

Yes scrub as well as you can with soap and water. Then if you have any disinfectant spray with that. If you have somewhere else to sleep then leave it to air but if not put some towels on the damp part to absorb the water and then tomorrow tackle it again and air it out. Hope DS is not too poorly and you don’t have a repeat of the sickness!

Also I found it worthwhile to get a mattress protector for our bed too after DS did a wee in my bed!!

Everything crossed it's a one and done! Poor thing. Vomiting bugs are the worst!

And you can get big tubs of non food grade bicarb on amazon much cheaper than the stuff you use for baking. Good to have around!
