We won't put his phone down

So my husband is constantly on his phone just looking at random tiktoks, news articles, Facebook/instagram posts, etc.
He does this when we're out, when we're sitting watching TV, when were out for a meal, when he goes to the bathroom.
I pulled him up about this last week and he acted like a teenager! Calling me names and saying he can go on his phone when he wants and he's not going to stop. Proper teenage tantrum about it (he's in his 30s)
I don't think there is anything bad going on like cheating, etc as I have free access to his phone but the amount of time he spends just scrolling when we are together is really impacting on our relationship. Am I the bad guy? Am I wrong for asking him to put the phone away when we're spending time together? Is this just normal guy behaviour these days?

Beyond rude and infuriating.
Not reserved for men though.
A friend of mine is addicted to her phone.
On one occasion the lights came up on stage to announce the performer's arrival.
What was my friend doing? Her Duolingo, because otherwise she was at risk of slipping down the rankings.

There is a term for this ('phubbing') as to our brains there's no difference between being ignored for a phone or being ignored for another reason.

Buy him an iPad.

Mine has taken to doing this recently, and he's 60!

I've been pulling him up on it as I find it rude. It also seems to mean that he has suddenly become incapable of getting stuff done around the house as he is distracted by his bloody phone!!

Honestly, it's like having a teenager again although all of our DDs are in their twenties now. 😠
