Previously posted about my twatty landlord insisting we pay a professional to trim the hedge (not in tenancy agreement). He’s got neighbours spying and sending pictures of the the hedge and has said our attempt at trimming it is not good enough! I told him to get to fuck.
Anyho, shower has been leaking so informed letting agent who agreed to send a plumber. Hedge gate took place in between plumber coming out to look at the shower and ordering a part which he came back to fit today.
He informed us that he had been instructed to remove the big bidet toilet seat from the toilet in the bathroom (it’s one of those ones which heats up, squirts warm water into neither regions, and has a fan dryer, very helpful if you’ve had a dodgy belly). Kids love it. Plumber was to replace with bog standard loo seat.
Bidet toilet seat was in situ when viewing the property and on moving in. Been here for 7 months now.
Letting agent hadn’t said a word about this so I rang them and asked what’s going on. Apparently landlord was concerned about cost of having to fix things so wanted the bidet seat taken away so it didn’t have to be fixed in future (no problem with it has been reported). I said I’m not letting the plumber take it and letting agent was insistent that I had no say in it and the landlord could do as he wants. In the end plumber said he’s not getting involved and left it.
Landlord obviously pissed off that we refused to pay for professional hedge trimmer - which was imperative for the security, integrity and value of the property according to him - and is now trying to be petty.
WiBU to refuse to let him take the bum washer away?
Just to add he’s not even the actual landlord. House is in his wife’s name only (well he says she’s his wife) and tenancy agreement only lists her as landlord. Never seen or heard from this woman (apparently gone abroad and husband joined later, only him there when viewing the property). Letting agent only deal with him. WI also BU to insist that we only deal with landlord and letting agents evidence of that?
Well aware we’re going to have to move again which is going to be a nightmare!
