DM died of ovarian cancer last November. I'm 44. Currently got twinges and tugging type pain in what I can only assume is my ovary (left side) and upset stomach for three days (diarrhoea, always around 12pm ish). Are these symptoms enough for me to get it checked out?!

I would go if I was you.
My dad died of gastric cancer and one of the signs was eating indigestion tablets like sweets because heartburn and helicobactor pylori,(found out after he died). I am currently having issues with increased heartburn. I spoke to my local pharmacist who recommended I see my doc and sold me a rather large box of heartburn tablets.
My doc, who phoned me about something totally different, the next day, sorted a prescription and 2 tests to make sure nothing bad is happening.
Even if it turns out to be nothing sinister, you will be able to stop worrying. Because someone is listening and taking you seriously.

Always get it checked out. My mum died of ovarian cancer and she had put her symptoms down to stress until she collapsed. I'm always getting checked out if I have any of the symptoms below, and I'm now not afraid to get another opinion if I feel I am being fobbed off

feeling constantly bloated
a swollen tummy
discomfort in your tummy or pelvic area
feeling full quickly when eating
needing to pee more often than usual
