To think most people have no idea how little HLTAs/Teaching Assistants earn?

Anybody want to hazard a guess at the average monthly income of a ft HLTA/TA?

It really is quite shocking!

@RosieAway I'll be receiving a postgraduate loan.

@LorlieS another amazing member of staff lost due to our job not being valued. I’m at the same point as you. I also got injured recently by a child whose support has been reduced so is deregulated all the time.
I’m looking for a job away from education as I can’t afford to work for NMW anymore. I have decades of experience and am massively over qualified. So am now looking at a job where I get paid a fair wage.
I feel so sorry for kids at the moment as all the good staff are now broken and leaving.
