I am currently part way through a dental plan with a private dentist after losing my NHS dentist in COVID.
I have a few missing teeth and have poor enamel on several other teeth, also a fracture in a back molar. I've spent about £1k so far on whitening, hygienist and having moulds made for recommended composite building up of all my front teeth.
I tried a trial of the moulded front teeth yesterday, they looked great (not too "fake") and dentist assures me that my teeth will be much stronger. However I found it difficult to speak with them in place.
Dentist said not to worry and that I'll soon get used but I'm concerned as once in place the treatment is permanent and no going back.
The cost also seems quite high. A further £4.7k to go, that includes several crowns to molars.
Am in dilemma.
Does anyone have any experience of similar treatment and did your speech return to normal?

I can only speak from my experience with orthodontics and having to wear retainers. Speech goes back to normal within a couple of days. I imagine it is very similar with the treatment you are considering and I suspect the dentist have seen more than enough cases to know that speech improves rapidly for the vast majority of their patients.

Thanks Catza, That's reassuring.
I have a professional job and do a lot of presentations.
