Is it just me

I dated someone for several months and that ended in October last year. Since then I’ve been on a couple of dates and I’ve noticed something about all these men and I want to know if it’s just me!!! I’m early 40s so I pick guys around my age or older and all of them and I mean all, just talk about themselves! They ask you very little, they seem bored when you talk and you spend most of the dates giving them free therapy! Is this because I meet them on an app? I don’t think any of them are ready to date after their ex’s! Is anyone else finishing the same?

It happens to my friend and me too. I unmatch anyone who doesn't ask me questions. I'm not their mother/emotional support person/therapist/manic pixie dream girl.

All the time. I find it bizarre. I’ve been on dates where I’ve felt like a balloon with a face drawn on it that they can just talk at about themselves. 🎈

I saw a man for a while and realised he’d asked me NOTHING about me in the whole time I’d been seeing him. I even tried to airily mention things that were going on in my life to see if he’d take the bait. He’d just nod politely and move the conversation back to him.

It’s not all men, but a hell of a lot of them in my experience.

I suppose at least you're getting to the date stage! I usually get the ones who can't think of anything else to say but 'what you up to?'. I lose the will to live at that point.
