To be annoyed dh has deleted my programmes

Dh has, not for the first time, deleted programmes I’ve recorded on the Sky planner without asking. When he has done this before, I’ve asked him to check with me first before doing so. He claims no recollection of doing it and thinks he’s done nothing wrong. Am I being unreasonable to think this is not ok?

Just go back and reinstate them

BIinkii · 23/01/2024 20:07

Are you sure it's him if he doesnt recall? Get them back from the deleted.

mummabubs · 23/01/2024 20:10

Assuming he did do it and the box didn't delete it then he was being thoughtless. I'm like you, always check with DH first. My DH did this to me once with TV (box still had plenty of space on it but he fancied a clean up) and once with some of my possessions. I wasn't happy and told him as much! Nowadays if I really want to make sure he doesn't delete something I use the "keep" function.

Geordieshire · 23/01/2024 20:10

They have been permanently deleted. No no one else who could have done. He has form for ‘not remembering’

LTB

KrisAkabusi · 23/01/2024 20:12

Have you checked the Deleted Items folder in recordings? If they haven't been recorded over they should be there. Unless they've been deleted from there as well. But that takes effort, it can't be an accident, it takes a lot of button presses to do that.

Geordieshire · 23/01/2024 20:14

Would he do it again though? I made it clear the last time I wasn’t happy. Yes I’ve now marked as ‘keep’ but didn’t think that should be necessary

Deleted from there too. It’s not even as though it’s likely to get full

Programs do disappear after a certain time (BBC are the worst for this short life span). I had quite a few arguments with my husband when we both used to accuse each other of deleting stuff.

BertieBotts · 23/01/2024 20:20

That seems really harsh. Is he like that in other ways?

Thepossibility · 23/01/2024 20:20

Does he do other mean things to you? Or is he just weird about the T.V?

gamerchick · 23/01/2024 20:21

Do it back? Then say the same.

Geordieshire · 23/01/2024 20:22

I didn’t know that, it’s a possibility thanks

That would drive me nuts. Is the memory of sky box full? If so that could cause auto delete.
If not then yes more than likely someone's deleted it.
Can you find it and redownload it?
If you mark anything you havent watched as keep ( 3 dots, next to delete button, then select keep ) you get a message to make sure you really want to delete it- should prevent unintentional deletions.
Is this a one off annoying thing that DH does or is he often controlling/ deliberately frustrating ?

Geordieshire · 23/01/2024 20:28

No not a one off. I let it go the first time. I’m furious and he thinks I’m the problem

WhoPooedInTheFridge · 23/01/2024 20:29

What were they? Can you not find them on sky go or re-download them? Some have expiry dates

BIinkii · 23/01/2024 20:29

But you've got no proof it's him.

gamerchick · 24/01/2024 10:55

But you've got no proof it's him.

That's why you do it back. If it truly is a gremlin then he can't really react, can he?
