Anyone noticed meat from Sainsburys weighing less than it says on the label?

Made a beef stew last week with beef from Sainsburys and was a bit shocked at what 750g reduced to after cooking.
Thought I might try a different one and read the reviews. 2 different customers left reviews saying there was less meat, when they weighed it, than it said on the label.

curious to see how widespread this is, or not! Anyone else noticed this??

Too late for me to check as the stew is long gone!

After cooking is immaterial (it might just 'look' smaller because of how you've cooked it), but it should be close to the weight when it comes out of the package.

For some weights, there is a 'tolerable negative error', by which the weight might be slightly off. This is very small. https://www.gov.uk/weights-measures-and-packaging-the-law/packaged-goods

You can contact Trading Standards in such cases, unless you're in Scotland, where the contact is a Food Safety Team (likely in your council) https://www.food.gov.uk/contact/consumers/report-problem/report-misleading-labelling

Obviously nothing you can do for this particular instance, but if you notice it's smaller when weighing, like the reviewer who got nearly 10% less than promised, it can't hurt.
