AIBU to ask how to have nice hair without pregnancy?

Why is my hair so thick and beautiful whilst pregnant? And can I recreate this without being pregnant? My hair is now so thin and lacklustre and I’d love to thicken it up but could do with some vitamin or treatment recommendations as previously the only thing that has worked is being pregnant.

How old is your baby? It's really common for hair to shed at 3-5 months post pregnancy.

If you've previously had thick hair it will come back.

@SunRainStorm so unfortunately I’ve always had rubbish hair and during pregnancy it’s been amazing. That’s why I’m trying to recreate it, with vitamins perhaps? My baby is now nearly 3 and this happened in my previous two pregnancies too.

It's the oestrogen that reduces the amount of hair you shed. I had the same when I was on the combined pill and lost loads when I switched

You can't really recreate the pregnancy hormones so it's probably never going to be possible to get the exact effect, but I've found collagen supplements have made my hair a bit thicker (including my eyelashes!)
