Am I feeding my formula fed baby incorrectly?

AIBU to think I'm feeding my formula fed baby incorrectly?

My baby was born at 37w2d weighing 2810g.

She's currently almost 8 weeks old (tomorrow) and has been drinking 2oz every two hours. The last two days she's been wanting more so I'm trying to up her feed to 3oz. However, surely 3oz every two hours can't be right for her weight? What would the correct amount be? She's now 8.378lbs. At birth she was 6.194...

I'm trying to increase the amount and decrease the frequenting to potentially stop over feeding her but she cries and screams if:

  1. She isn't fed every two hours
  2. She isn't fed 3oz at least

I'm not sure if it makes a difference but she has a suspected CMPA and is on prescription milk for this. Also taking baby Gaviscon due to reflux. Starting to now wonder if it's reflux or if I'm feeding her incorrectly?

I've included her weight chart for reference.

Am I feeding my formula fed baby incorrectly?

@user2233my twins was born at 33wks i started them on a couple of oz then increased it them more they drunk now they on 9oz bottles and just started weaning aswell….your baby will tell you when she is hungry and when she is full as she won’t take it….I realized that with my boys the bigger they was getting and now because they having food aswell they are only having three 9oz bottles instead of 4-5 bottles a day

Honestly don't worry and try not to overthink. You can't overfeed them they simply push it out when they are full and don't want it. I tried pushing mine into more less frequently but when they scream for milk they scream for milk. She'll suddenly start wanting more and then wait longer until the next one. They do it on their own I promise.

My cmpa baby never went above 4oz bottles 3 hourly, she's now 10 months cmpa milk is totally gross and they will only take in what they need so my gp told me little and often was common with these babies. As long as baby is gaining your on the right track.

@Sprinkles211 thank you for your response. Does that mean your baby may have also been on the smaller end of the centiles? Does your baby still have the CMPA? How is weaning going? X

Do you do pace feeding? That helps with knowing if your baby has had enough.

You should be paced feeding and never letting her finish a bottle. If she does then she needs more milk.

My cmpa children out grew it at 5 yrs and 3 1/2 years old.

Hi she was born at 37 weeks exactly and was 6lbs at birth she gained slow and steady and once we started weaning she discovered how much she likes food haha. She's now 17lbs and had reduced her bottles to 2 4oz a day but will eat breakfast lunch and dinner the nhs recommends something like 24oz a day still at this age but my hv had never been worried as again the milk is gross and she's thriving.
