Lone mums. When do you find time to exercise?

Weekdays I'm up at 6, I do school drop off at 7:40, work 8-3, school pickup 3:15, clubs Monday Wednesday and Friday, music lesson Tuesday, free evening Thursday, weekends I have my evenings when 5yo is in bed. Never realistically have time until he is asleep at 8, dishes, laundry, tidying up etc. Bed by 9:30 as it takes me an hour to fall asleep (working on this). I'm shattered all the time, want to find time to do proper exercise most days like I used to, think this would help with sleep too. Can you help me work out a plan I can do from home that will work?

I'm in the same situation and struggling to exercise.

How about investing in a mini treadmill or exercise bike? Local walking group if you have any child free time?

There's definitely lots on youtube. So much that it's difficult to choose.

Colleagues go for a run in their lunch break.
I used to go for a run when DD was at her activities.
Walk to their activities instead of drive if possible.
YouTube videos with DD so Zumba like ones or fitness blender

Could you bear to get up at 5.30 and do half an hour then? I don’t have to leave the house til 8 so get up at 6 to exercise for half an hour, I know you’re on an earlier schedule. I never ever regret getting out of bed to do it though.
I also do workout videos on a weekend/holiday with the kids there, sometimes they join in half heartedly, more often play or read a book beside me. You might also be able to jog while your DS rides his bike? I’m not a lone parent by the way just DH works away quite a bit.

Absolutely feel your pain!
My days are very similar to yours, school run, work, clubs etc.
If I were to work out it would need to be at 5am or 9:30pm - too tired and can't be bothered at 9:30pm and have to literally drag myself out of bed at 5:45/6:00am (usually takes an average of 3 snoozes on the alarm)

Would love to know where these secret hours and energy are hidden!

Get yourself a kettlebell. There are some really good full body workouts on you tube. I like the ones by Caroline Girvans. I've been doing 30mins 3-4 times a week for about 6 weeks now and I feel much fitter and stronger already.

With that schedule you would need to get up earlier and do it 5-6am....or in the evening before having a shower and getting into bed. Hard I know!

I like the Jillian Michaels App £33 every 3 months on app store, you have access to all her fitness videos or you can personalise a workout for you so you put in the amount of time you have, what equipment you have access to and it gives you a workout you can then go through it and swap out any exercises you can't do IE kneeling on the floor if you have bad knees etc. You can then save the workout.
It also has meal plans and recipes too and you can track your measurements
