Insult Hurts GIF

Probably just being a drama queen but my arm is killing!

Started as a dull ache and is now really painful, still an ache but a lot worse. It’s down the whole arm from top to just above my wrist. I’ve literally not been doing anything strenuous - I work from home and haven’t done anything to have caused it. It came on really suddenly and I’m hoping it stops soon. Came on two hours ago randomly.

Could you have strained it eg exercise, massage, lifting anything?

Any other symptoms?

Soberfutures · 15/01/2024 20:37

Which arm? Can be a sign of heart issues. Not to alarm you. Any pain in ribs or back?

Pinkpinkplonk · 15/01/2024 20:40

Can you move it reasonably well?
Do you have a temperature?
Do you have shivers?
Are you cold and clammy?
Do you have jaw or chest pain?
can you move around the house/ go upstairs ok, with out getting breathless?
Are you generally feeling good, or awful?

if awful you may need to rethink and ring 111

@Soberfutures its my right arm. I have consistent tachycardia already which is currently being investigated. X

May be worth checking your heart rate and BP

VickyEadieofThigh · 15/01/2024 20:44

I'd be ringing 111, now you've mentioned the tachycardia.

AnyFucker · 15/01/2024 20:46

Ring 111

bluechicky · 15/01/2024 20:48

Go to hospital

lesdeluges · 15/01/2024 20:53

Not a medic, but it is possibly coming from your shoulder. Check out rotator cuff, and dislocation and see if the symptoms match up.

jamaisjedors · 15/01/2024 20:58

I had this checked out and through an ultrasound found out it is calcification on my shoulder, excruciating 😭

Ncposting · 15/01/2024 21:05

I called 111 and they’ve sent an emergency ambulance and I am going to feel like such a time waster if everything is fine

Sorry to hear that. Is there a treatment for this, did yours get better?

StuckintheRutt · 15/01/2024 21:25

Op that's fine it's better to be safe than sorry

Nerurio · 15/01/2024 21:28

I'm glad you're going to be checked OP, best to get a professional opinion.

Cantsleepwideawakeclub · 15/01/2024 21:31

Glad your getting checked, tachycardia can be serious

Pinkpinkplonk · 15/01/2024 22:03

@Ncposting good decision

You're not a time waster. You've told medical services your symptoms and THEY'VE decided to send an ambulance. You've done the right thing.

Hope all is ok 💐💐💐

HazelWicker · 15/01/2024 22:21

You've definitely done the right thing. Personal experience. Hope you feel reassured soon x

WhimsicalMoth · 16/01/2024 10:21

I hope everything went well OP, and it wasn't something serious 🩷

Not sure, it says most cases resolve simultaneously in 12-18 months but I can't live like this for that long... The doctor has suggested a needle inserted to wash away the calcification but the medical research I've read on this seems inconclusive...

Seeing a sports doctor tomorrow to hopefully get some answers.

OP hope you are ok???
